'Twas the day before Christmas

‘Twas the day before Christmas and down on the bay stood 6 wiley hunters looking for a great day. The decoys were set in the water with care in hopes of duck filled skies soon would be there. The hunters were nestled all hidden in the blind while visions of a limit danced in their minds. With barren skies the boredom set in but realized where I was and let out a grin. When straight from behind there came a clear sound and we all hunkered down even the hound. Calls to our mouths we answered right back. Double cluck, honk, honk we hope their on track. Heads down they appeared over the sea, 25 Canada’s headed straight in for me.

My creative juices ran out right here but this story ends with a "boom, boom, boom" as the Duck Commander likes to say. This is the best day of waterfowling I have ever been on and finally I get to say "we shot our limit!". 6 guys 12 geese. I completely went out this morning thinking that we were going to get into some ducks, wouldn't you know it I think we saw about 10. No worries though the geese were acting as good as anyone could ask for. What a great early Christmas gift for me. Monday will be here soon and I will give the geese another try back in PA along with some doves.

I forgot to mention we shot a bird with jewelry! This was the first time I had been on a hunt where we got a banded bird.

Great Christmas story! My wife was not as impressed with the jewlery when she saw it under the tree.

They never appreciate the finer things in life!
