Fishzilla?!? Fish-Bounty Hunters Wanted!

Post  BIG J on 2012-04-09, 13:53

You heard it right, Fishzilla aka Northern Snakehead. according to Frankenfish.com "The Northern Snakehead is an air breathing, invasive fish species that is spreading throughout the United States. Introduced to United States waters by careless disposal of aquarium pets or by illegal stocking, the Northern Snakehead is a fearsome, top predator. Because of its ferocious predation, the Northern Snakehead is commonly referred to in the media as “Frankenfish” or “Fishzilla”."

"Officials in Maryland are now offering bounties for the fish, giving out $200 gift cards for Bass Pro Shops, among other prizes, for anglers who catch and kill a snakehead and post a picture of themselves on the Maryland Department of Natural Resources website. But one angler with experience warns that nobody should expect to make easy money: “These fish clobber any type of moving bait you throw," Rodney Hose said. "When they smash into your lure, be prepared for a fight." Click here for the news story.

For those of you in the affected areas be on the look out for this monster and why not rack up some gift cards for BassPro. cheers

Here is a look at the ugly fishzilla, look at them teeth!

Can't wait to find one of these little bastards. They are said to be destroying some of our most precious fisheries. I believe the first thing you're supposed to do is cut its head off.
Whoever started this should be fed to a tank full of them!
