Blaine's first shot! Empty Blaine's first shot!

Today was the day we headed out for Blaine to start doing some shooting. We had actually tried this rather unsuccessfully a couple weeks ago but it was just too cold on the hands! I had a ton of fun doing this and he was so excited just to hit the target. I am sure he will be showing up his old man in no time! Right now he can't pull back the small compound from my younger years so he is shooting a small recurve. If you have any tips on teaching archery to kids or bows I should look at for the future let me know.

Blaine's first shot! Empty archery team

Post  dbagshaw 2011-03-14, 09:33

Around here, there is a big deal about young kids and archery competition teams - great for concnetration and skill building - maybe, eventually, he'd like to try that - I bet with his eye/hand coordination, he'd be really good

Summer Olympics 2025 here we come! :-) Just a proud Nana talking!

Right now he is excited so we will see what happens. I would imagine those same type of competive teams exist in this area and certainly would be great if he wanted in!

He wants to know when he can shoot deer, squirrels and any other moving creature so that is a good sign Laughing
